Lochnagar.

17th February 2023

As you’ll know, Storm Otto arrived, our first ‘named storm’ of the season. Locally there has been a bit damage,  principally from fallen trees which blocked tracks and took out power lines. It was also mild overnight, +6 degrees at 920 metres was recorded but back to 0 degrees by mid morning. Remaining snow was noticeably softer today but will be much firmer again on Saturday.

Cooler tomorrow with some snow, may look like winter again?

Initial plans were changed when we came across blocked access tracks.

A view to Beinn a Bhuird. The main top to the right is at 1179 metres.

Lochnagar corrie.

A closer view, Raeburns Gully is the diagonal line and the left hand branch of The Black Spout further right.
