A view!

4th April 2024

As I’ve been yo-yoing up and down Lochnagar in the cloud the last few days it was nice to get a view, only briefly as I was heading down. Its quite hard going above 900 metres at the moment, much firmer on older snow.

Tomorrow will be a game of two halves. Expecting snowfall (mainly overnight) and a cold start to the day but in the afternoon freezing levels will rise to above the summits.

Good timing! Walkers arriving  just as the cloud lifts.

The main Corrie. Not sure it’ll be quite as white after the weekend!

The South Sector.

A view back to the Col from the main track. A surprising amount of the lower snow had already gone. There was a fair bit of heat in the sun when it popped out!
