Lochnagar.

7th February 2023

It was a cloudy start to the day with a bit of drizzle at times but by afternoon it had brightened up with the sun making an appearance.

Lochnagar holding onto the snow despite the mild temperatures and rain. Bit cooler tomorrow but also due to be very windy, we haven’t had a lot of that this year!

The main Corrie of Lochnagar. Easier gullies are still complete.

South Corrie with a person above The Red Spout, the area of todays pit. Cornices still hanging on above the crag.

Forsaken Gully and Central Gully on the right. Again, some cornices stubbornly hanging on.

Very much a Spring view looking the other direction! Meikle Pap and the Gelder area.

Always nice to get an Eagle fly by! Edit……..looks like it was a red kite. Thanks for the emails! First seen around the plateau of Lochnagar, impressed they come up so high.
