Mild today, Wintry tomorrow.

4th April 2022

As forecasted, the freezing level lifted above the summits overnight. Snow started to thaw, recent new snow was mostly gone and deeper accumulations were like porridge!

Forecast is a bit uncertain on snow or rain later on Tuesday but generally it will be cold with snow showers for most of the period. Worth checking latest forecasts for latest info.

Slightly busier today, quite a few folks staying lower because of the strong winds with a few keen ones up on the hills. Not much snow lower down but expect to cross very firm and icy snow to access the summits of most Munro’s.

Looking across to Corrie Kander and Glas Maol, top right.

Can Carn Beag (Lochnagar, top left) . The Stuic,  the crags under it and Can Carn Mor (top right). A lot of the recent snow has gone from these aspects.

A distant view to Beinn a Bhuird. This area was clear for a good part of the day but it looked a bit grim over the main Cairngorms.
