Please be aware of current mandatory travel restrictions in Local Authority areas within Scotland and respect local communities by referring to Scottish Government guidance and safe route choices for exercise. For further guidance please refer to the following information for hillwalkers and climbers and snowsports on ski and board.
This blog is intended to provide hazard and mountain condition information to help plan safer mountain trips.
There was further snowfall overnight with some heavier showers during the day. Great to have some brief glimpses of the hills as showers passed but with snow blowing around picking out detail was difficult.
Snowfall is due to ease over the next 48 hours.

A view to the Cairnwell and The Tiger chair. These aspects have had many days of exposure to strong winds.

West aspects have deep and unstable accumulations. We are regularly seeing a weaker layer at depth within these deposits.

The snowblowers were out trying to clear roads today. A challenging task in todays strong winds.
