Lochnagar 20.12.20

20th December 2020

Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

There was a fresh dusting of snow put down on Lochnagar overnight will a couple of snow showers pushing through today. The old wet snow is slowly firming up but there is a great deal of moisture in the ground. Further light snowfall forecast for the next 24 hour period and shallow accumulations will form. They won’t be particularly well bonded to the refrozen snow-ice but we are not expecting that the depth will become significant.
