A wet and windy day.

8th February 2019

No surprises today, very wet and windy with thaw conditions well established by lunchtime.

Difficult to properly film the conditions. Winds were just over 70 mph at 920 metres. This was taken as I hid behind a cairn.

Looking towards the middle valley when it cleared. Still decent drifts at this point.

There was some overnight snowfall. This was at Corrie Fionn. Deposits didn’t last long in the mild temperatures and persistent rain.

Surprisingly it cleared for around 45 minutes or so. The ground was starting to break through in many locations.

Snow was becoming saturated in some locations. The burns and rivers had become much higher by early afternoon.
