Foggy!

14th January 2018

Seriously limited visibility today – struggled to see the skiers crossing the A93 at 650 metres. Ice particles in the air going through a col at 900 metres also made for reduced visibility !

The hardy Scottish skiers were still getting on with it – despite the fog and increasingly strong S/SW wind.

Unfortunately with the next band of precipitation due to come in from the W/NW we have been forecast the least amount of snow of the six forecast areas. But after the rapid melt/freeze cycle overnight it is due to stay cold for a while so what we do get will remain.

Visibility at 700m today

Well developed rime on ski fence at 850m.
