Lochnagar.

24th March 2017

Lochnagar looking good today. Nice to see some climbers in taking advantage of the firm neve. Easier gullies are still complete.

Lochnagar today. Little snow under 900 metres but N to E facing corries are still holding reasonable amounts.

Rock fall on the West Buttress. Obvious scar between West and Gelder Gullies still has more to come down.

Eagle Ridge and Buttress

Crampons on. Although it was softening up today it’s generally firm with poor run outs.

Climbers in Raeburns Gully. One soloist up front plus a roped pair lower down.

The Black Spout. Many easier gullies are still complete.

The Black Spout, right hand finish.

There are not many cornices left. What is around will be prone to collapse over the next few days.
