Poor visibility

4th March 2016

Not the nicest of days out on the hill, although there were some brief breaks in the clouds. With the winds swapping to the North-East there was a fair bit of existing snow being moved around.

Some aspects were being stripped.

Some aspects were being stripped.

Originally the aspect in the above pic was as deep as the remaining block of snow but it’s being gradually eroded in the strong winds.

Raised fox footprints.

Raised fox footprints.

In these conditions there are normally plenty of raised footprints from climbers, walkers and skiers however the above ones are from a fox.

Tonight we will receive new snowfall, there is low confidence in forecasted amounts, it would be worth checking latest forecasts for updated amounts due.
