Category 1 data

8th February 2011

Category 1 data is the best data for indications of whether there is instability in the snowpack. Observed avalanche activity, this one by the A93, is good data. This is the second time this winter that this slope has avalanched.

The forecast onset of rain will keep the hazard High.

Not so great visibility on the Glas Maol plateau today, about 50 dog lengths
