Snow cover.

1st April 2022

A walk into the Cairngorms today. A dry morning but becoming cloudier during the afternoon. -6 degrees this morning but the temperature had risen to 0 degrees celsius by afternoon. Some deep accumulations can be found on SE to SW aspects and sheltered features but otherwise expect smaller drifts on paths and hollows etc. Most of the bigger areas are isolated in distribution and avoidable.

Deep accumulations in wind sheltered features. Most of these are avoidable.

A view towards Derry Cairngorm, top right, Ben McDui, middle,  gives a good idea of the snow coverage.

A view down Larig an Laoigh with Bynack Mor in the background. South aspects looking white.

Towards the munro of Beinn Mheadhoin.
