Stunning day.

19th February 2022

Great to have snow and sun for a change. Lots of snow has been on the move in recent days so it was good to have a proper look at different aspects. Debris was noted on some aspects today, probably occurred yesterday or last night.

Sunday will probably be a challenging day on the hill, snow, rain and strong winds are expected. Snow stability will not be at its best but it may help with overall conditions.

A stunning day. Across Ballochbuie forest and the River Dee towards Beinn a Bhuird.

Glenshee Ski Area looking in great condition. There was a mix of hard and soft snow, fairly challenging skiing at times.

Splitboarder with a scoured slope behind. Evidence of last nights strong winds.

The plateau areas are well covered, mostly firm snow. Main Cairngorms in the background looking very white.

Glas Maol East side. Most of this slope had debris on it. Little Glas Maol looked quite thin towards the bottom of it.

Corrie Fionn. Debris on the NE side with some cornice collapse elsewhere.

Plenty ski tourers out today, it was a sociable day!
