Ski Touring

14th February 2007

Conditions were fantastic on the hill today. Those out for a ski tour had the best day for it so far this season (on this side anyway). A little broken from the Glenshee Ski area then fine from 800 metres. Good cover on the hills. The cover has refrozen at last providing a much needed base. grampian police Team were enjoying a traverse of the White Mounth and there were a couple of others out as well.
All the main Cairngorms have good cover. A number of slopes have avalanche/cornice debris on them from last Monday.
However there is a thaw due on Thursday, hopefully we’ll keep enough for more touring this weekend.
