Snow Patch Olympics
18th April 2015
Things have become competitive in the SAIS offices in the last few days of the season and the forecasters have been out hunting down the lowest lying snow patch that is at least 1m x 1m and at least 500 metres from a ski area. Using GPS evidence I could claim that ours was at 482m as indicated but I’m going to have to admit that it needs recalibrating and that snow patch is at 520m – which won’t beat Lochaber or Creag Meagaidh – but I don’t care as we have had the best weather of all the areas this year! Blue sky in the Southern Cairngorms – we love it!
