Fresh on the tops.

12th April 2019

Despite the sunny start to the day it felt cold in the fresh winds on the tops. We headed for Carn Bhac today, a place that often feels wild, remote and gives great views.

Still snow in the higher well defined Corries but otherwise its mostly clear of snow.

A sunny start but clouds building throughout the day.

Slightly hazy views of the main Cairngorms.

Golden Plover with Beinn a Ghlo in the background. (edit: thanks for putting my bird mis identification right! Glad to see some people are still reading the blog!),

Crossing Geal Carn with Glen Tilt to the left of the runner.

A brief stop at an old deer watchers hut. Ben Lutharn Mhor, 1045 metres, in the background.

Passing Corrie Bhearnmaist. Often a site for full depth avalanches at the end of Winter….but not this year!

The top of Carn Bhac 946 metres, in the sun while the main Cairngorms start to cloud over.
