This one metre slab sheared easily in field tests. The old snow ice surface is shown by the red arrow.
Very careful route finding to avoid run out zones, cornice zones, most corrie exits especially on NE to SE aspects.
This snow profile was done very close to the profile yesterday when the slab was about 20cm thick, see yesterday blog photo for comparison.
