Busy!

14th February 2026

Unsurprisingly it was very busy on the hills today with many car parks reported busy or full.

Generally very icy underfoot with ski or boot crampons useful for steeper ascents.

Winds started strengthening from the SW early afternoon, hopefully the forecasted snow is not too far behind.

A skier passing a wind scoop. There’s plenty of funky snow sculptures out there at the moment.

A busy track to Glas Maol. As it was very icy after yesterday’s strong Northerlies, most ski tourers walked up.

Debris from one of last weekends avalanche.

This lone skier found some solitude on the Sron na Gaoithe ridge.

Winter skills group with Ben Avon behind.

Two skiers with avalanche debris on the West Wall behind.
