White Mounth views.

3rd March 2026

Another good day for views! We’re been spoiled. Had a wander up past Glas Allt Shiel waterfalls then up the ridge onto the White Mount. Sunny but cold in the wind. Icy underfoot but softening later in the sun.

Great cover across the plateau areas, Glas Maol to Lochnagar very much in condition, just a bit of a ski carry to get to the snow.

Little bit of rain tomorrow (Wednesday) but there should be little change.

Great cover above 900 metres. Classic Spring touring conditions.

The Dubh Loch crags.

Beinn a Bhuird.

Looking to Lochnagar above the Glas Allt burn. The skyline is Central Buttress.

The South Side of Lochnagar…..the cairn of Cac Carn Mor is on the skyline.

Hi, did you get a view into South East gully or Central gully above the Dubh Loch at all? And also of their runouts? If so how did they look?
    Thanks! 😀

Central gully would be okay, run outs are short.

large patches of yellow snow in the first photo?
Hopefully an artifact of the image capture.

can confirm…..it was all white! Will we get any dust from the Sahara? Might give it a red look.
