Another windy day
24th December 2013
There’s been a brief melt-freeze cycle overnight but conditions underfoot remain difficult. A soft, breakable crust has replaced yesterday’s deep drifts. There was less snowfall during the main part of the day and the severe winds were scouring most slopes. Only very sheltered locations were holding onto the drifting snow.
More snow is forecast overnight, continuing through the day but easing somewhat. The winds will also ease slightly but will remain very strong on the tops. So no need to feel guilty about staying indoors…
Happy Christmas!
