Today was an overcast day with moderate South-Westerly winds. The snowpack is firm and icy in most locations a slip or fall would have serious consequences. Overnight snow has formed some shallow fresh snow deposits in wind sheltered locations above 900 metres.
It was generally very icy but there was the odd pocket of new snow in places.
The ground is icy in many places even when snow cover is limited. Crampons essential.
Light drifting around 1000 metres. Beyond there is a view towards the Cairngorms.
