More snow forecast.

14th March 2019

Generally the snow cover is shallow but complete enough to allow me to ski out of Glenshee today. There has been some snow loss in the warmer temperatures but with a bit more snow forecast, particularly at the weekend hopefully it will improve again.

Todays journey, done on ski’s! Over to Carn a Gheoidh in the distance.

There were a couple of smaller avalanches in this corrie from the previous day.

Pitsite today. Still drifting at higher altitudes. A couple of weaker layers were noted but otherwise it felt like stability was generally improving.

Some smaller surface instabilities and collapsed cornices on a SE aspect.

Although widespread the snow cover is often shallow. With slightly warmer temperatures in the last 24 hours there was already some snow loss.
