Another wild day.

5th February 2026

Another poor day on the hill. The new norm of strong winds, snowfall and little visibility very much in place. The freezing level did rise to around the summits last night before dropping back down to around 600 metres early afternoon. Overall, this has helped stability, however windslab is developing again in sheltered locations.

Let’s hope we get to properly enjoy all this snow soon!

A ski tour group, sensibly staying at lower levels to enjoy the fresh snow.

I used snow shoes again today. For me easier to manage in the high winds and poor visibility higher up the hill. Save the ski’s for the days I can see!

Almost buried!

Above 900 metres, whiteout conditions, aside from dogs.
