Another Stunning Day

19th January 2025

A clear and starry night with a hard frost so quite chilly conditions first thing. The patchy snow was very firm and icy this morning with some water ice on paths and tracks. Conditions remained chilly in the glens but the sunny summits warmed up nicely if you could find somewhere out of the rather cool wind. Went to the North Top on Beinn a’Bhuird today, as we wanted to get an idea of how much snow is up there. Rewarded for our effort with some stunning views. BMRT were training in the area and managed to find some meaningful snow for winter skills training. Bit of a walk in though!

No real change tomorrow  – No precipitation and the freezing level will lower slightly to around 1250m.
