The long road to Lochnagar.

8th January 2025

It felt a long way into Lochnagar today! Very deep drifts all the way to the col, slow going. It was also very cold with a high wind chill, it felt like a proper Winter!

The windslab that is there is becoming a little more widespread and more unstable. Still all very avoidable, (in good visibility)!

Looks amazing snow cover but most of it is very soft with no base.

A scoured area, indicative of strong winds.

Looking over Lochnagar West Ridge and Meall na Saobhaide, Ben Avon Plateau in the background.

The Main Corrie with The Black Spout.

The Southern Sector.

2 walkers by passing a deep drift.

Beinn a Bhuird.
