Stronger winds than expected today with recent deposits being stripped from exposed locations and deposited in steeper, wind sheltered locations forming localised unstable windslab. Corrie rims and some gully tops are worst affected, holding fragile deposits.
Dry conditions again tomorrow, with hopefully less strong winds. The freezing level isn’t well defined – with cooler conditions expected overnight before it rises to around 1100 to 1200 metres, possibly a bit higher.
Raised footprints. Snow has been compressed by walker’s weight, then softer snow around it has been blown away by gale force winds.
Snow in the foreground drifting right to left. Fuzziness around the walkers in the distance is drifting snow.
Blue sky above the Glas Allt Falls this morning. There was a world of difference between conditions on the plateau and the glen today.
