Lot of snow, lot of wind!

13th March 2026

Most of our snow came overnight leaving a dry bright day. It was very windy with quite a bit of snow blowing around at times.

Two skiers after ascending Glas Maol. One new avalanche was spotted in Corrie Fionn, you can just about make out the crown wall.

The winds were really strong today, regularly gusting at 60 mph. Lots of snow was being distributed on to North to East aspects. Anything facing the winds were very firm.

A group from Falkirk were having a good ski training day, here heading to an entry point for a ski into Corrie Fionn.

Most of the main Cairngorms were quite cloudy today but Beinn a Bhuird cleared for a bit.
