Bridge Closed

I’m sure many of you will already know that the bridge over the Allt Darrarie has been damaged and is now closed to vehicles and pedestrians. This is the bridge which takes you from the public road to the Glen Muick Visitor Centre and gives access to Loch Muick, Lochnagar and all the surrounding hills. Balmoral Estate has already had an engineer and construction company onsite and will be working hard to get the situation resolved as soon as possible.
Low cloud and light rain on the hills today with a very gusty wind. Surface layers had softened slightly but there was very firm snow-ice just beneath. Not a great outlook for tomorrow but Friday and Saturday look a bit more promising.
