A dry morning. A soggy afternoon.
16th March 2026
A dry and windy morning with some views preceded a calmer afternoon with poor views and rain during the afternoon. Last night, a small amount of fresh snow fell which continued to drift throughout the evening and into the morning at higher elevations. This fresh snow and the redistribution of existing snow has continued to build unstable accumulations in steep wind sheltered locations, especially around gully tops and coire rims.
Thaw conditions will prevail for the next 24 hour period with some rain overnight followed by a drizzly day. Any weaknesses within the snowpack will be exaggerated with the onset of rain and any unstable cornices will be prone to collapse.
