Busy…

22nd February 2026

Lots of people out enjoying the snow with the Glenshee Ski Centre having a busy day. There was a steady stream of walkers, snowshoers, ski tourers and split boarders heading up Glas Maol. Those who chose to have a bit of a lie in got the better visibility as it was pretty cloudy first thing. It was windier than expected making it quite chilly in exposed locations. After warmer conditions yesterday, there has been some snow loss – most apparent in exposed locations where the cover was already thin. Overall though cover is good with significant depth in some locations which should hopefully withstand the milder conditions that are heading our way this week. There are some weighty cornice’s hanging around and if the thaw does become well established, collapse is inevitable. There will be some shallow windslab development tomorrow but we are not expecting it to be significant, unless we get more snow than anticipated….
