A wet and windy day.

17th January 2026

It was certainly a lot wetter than I expected today. Heavy rain up to 800 metres, becoming snowier above this level. Good to see a few walkers and ski tourers trying to make the best of it.

Walkers making their way to Glas Maol. Slow going in the soft snow and gale force winds.

Little visibility above 900 metres. Cover is again quite good above the 900 metre level.

Out the cloud around 800 metres on the way down.. The freezing level lifted late morning with snow melting rapidly in the falling rain.
