A cloudy Lochnagar.

13th January 2026

It was fairly slow going to Lochnagar today. A fair bit of post holing as the surface wasnt quite hard enough to walk on. Hopefully that will improve as the temperature drop.

Not much to see in the Corrie when I was there. Of course by the time I was down it had cleared and the sun was out.

Washout on the main track from the recent thaw. Today’s river levels were much lower than yesterday.

The main track to the corrie has still got plenty of snow. Quite slow going in places, expected to become much firmer, particularly at higher elevations.

Little to see in the corrie while I was there.

A brief glimpse of the South Sector.

Drifting snow above 800 metres.
