Lochnagar

20th December 2025

With milder conditions today the recent windslab accumulations are becoming consolidated. It was zero degrees centigrade at 1100m with precipitation falling as sleet and wet snow. There are some deeper accumulations present around corrie rims and at the tops of some gullies, but they were demonstrating fairly good stability. Small cornices have developed above some slopes. Visibility was very poor today with damp conditions for the camera lens – poor photo opportunities again.

Poor viz at the top of Lochnagar. Some deeper deposits at the tops of gullies.
