Sunshine and views!

18th March 2025

Finally, less clouds and some views.

(Above) The path was void of snow below around 800 metres, although there were small patches of water ice to look out for.

(Above) Steep snow ice at around 1000 metres on a Northerly aspect.

(Above) This is one of the more recently developed larger snow patches on a Southerly aspect above 1000 metres. A breakable crust made travel quite tiring.

(Above) Looking down Black Spout gully, (unlikely to be complete).

(Above) A small skiff of shallow fresh snow and some cold crystals to look at as part of today’s observations.

(Above) Looking to the northerly mountains of the South Cairngorms area.

(Above) The Stuic.
