Dreich Lochnagar…

Rain showers moved South-East across the Southern Cairngorms area, these became heavier and more persistent during the afternoon. The cloud base was around 900 metres for most of the day.
The visibility on Lochnagar was reduced and the occasional brighter spells didn’t manage to break the clouds cover clamped to the summits.
Rain showers will continue through the evening turning to wintery showers above 800 metres tomorrow as the freezing level lowers below the summits.

“Dreich” (dull and gloomy) was the word of the day.
