Blue Sky….

2nd March 2025

A rather beautiful day today but quite chilly at altitude in the very strong winds. After another clear and cold night the remaining snow patches are firm and totally unforgiving if you slip in the wrong location.

Many areas have very little snow with greatest amounts being found on the North-West to North-East facing corries and the high East facing corries of Beinn a’Bhuird – which were visible today from the A93 and looked as splendid as ever.

Views across to the main Cairngorm Plateau showed that there are larger areas of snow over there, where there is a much greater land mass at a higher altitude.

No real change tomorrow but conditions are set to become milder between Tuesday and Thursday.

Glas Maol (1068m)

Cairn o’Claise (1064m)

Long shot to main Cairngorm Plateau – more snow apparent.

Blue sky and sunshine … Nice!
