Beautiful Day

15th March 2025

It was a beautiful day – Super chilly first thing but warming up considerably as the morning progressed. We still had that cold wind – today more North-Westerly but still pretty cool on bare skin. Unfortunately we didn’t quite get the clear summits we were hoping for all the time as cloud sat fairly stubbornly on the higher peaks during the morning. When out of the wind, on a snowy SE facing slope the sun was pretty intense with surface layers softening rapidly.

High pressure is set to remain for the next few days so the weather should be fairly settled. Freezing level gradually rising up to about 1150 metres tomorrow afternoon but lowering back down on Monday, so stable snow conditions expected.
