If Carlsberg did …

… mountains, they would probably look like Lochnagar.

Having been stuck in the cloud the past views days, Lochnagar made her presence felt today.  A relatively calm and cold day yielding much more favourable conditions for higher level observations and photos.  The existing windslab is slowly consolidating with instabilities remaining on West and North-West aspects above 900 metres. Away from these aspects and where exposed to the wind, conditions underfoot are rather favourable.  Not much change expected for the next 48 hours so if it’s pea soup tomorrow, you have a good baseline to work from now.

Eastern aspects of Cuidhe Crom (1083m) and Meikle Pap (980m).

The famous cliffs of Lochnagar.

Looking across to Broad Cairn (998m)

The main cliffs.

The mini cliffs.

A bonus photo: Mount Keen (939m), outwith the SC SAIS area, showing that the Eastern ranges are holding more snow.
