Poor visibility.

27th January 2025

There was snowfall down to the glen last night which started melting rapidly below 600 metres or so by morning. The cloud base was around 700 metres but it did stay dry. There had been some strong winds overnight but these had eased by dawn.

A very Wintery landscape at the moment with fairly arduous walking in a mix of soft snow and breakable crust.

Visibility was poor today but very occasionally a gap in the cloud opened up. A view down to Glenshee.

Poor visibility throughout today. Snow depths vary on the hill, generally shallow in many locations with deeper areas in wind sheltered areas.
