Broad Cairn.

21st January 2025

A pleasant dry day on the hill. It’s been cold the last few days and has become icy underfoot in many places.

There will be little change tomorrow, staying cool with the freezing level expected to be around 850 metres all day.

Looking down to Loch Muick.

Summit of Broad Cairn, Eagle Rocks on the right and Dubh Loch on the left.

Looking towards the Dubh Loch. Ice building over the slabs before the main crags which were dry.

I suppose with the lack of winter you could understandably get very frustrated but at least the good weather is giving all the forecasters opportunities to visit some far flung locations. Hopefully the coming storm will deliver some white stuff . . . ?
