Storm force winds today with gusts of over 90 mph at 930m. Light rain or drizzle in the west of the area but drier further east. The snow patches were thawing at 900m with air temps. of over 4 degrees centigrade. Some respite tomorrow afternoon as the freezing level lowers for a period of time. The situation remains unsettled though with continued fluctuations expected. Wednesday has potential for some fresh snow in the Southern Cairngorms but there is still a degree of uncertainty in the forecast at this present time.
