Spring sunshine & showers

30th March 2024

We had a mix of everything today with thick cloud, sunshine, rain and even some snow this afternoon. The recent snow is steadily thawing and consolidating with soft wet surface layers at most altitudes.

Skies are due to clear tonight which will lead to lower temperatures around the snow surface, with some firming up taking place. The strong sunlight on Sunday will quickly soften snow on the Southern aspects, staying firmer for longer on the shady North facing slopes.

Staying settled for the next 48 hours…

Practically no snow on the sub 900m hills

The factory snow was popular today with people grabbing some bonus Easter runs
