Snow top up & some sun.

10th February 2024

A pleasant day to the East of Glenshee. A little more snowfall overnight and light winds today. Some deep drifts in sheltered locations and scoured areas immediately adjacent. Recent winds have been from the East.


Above; Deep drifts on Meall Odhar looking to the Glas Maol to Creag Leacach ridge.

Below; Same view with more obvious signs of scouring and deposition…as well as a relatively high level of significant snow.

Below; Quiet today. One lone ski tourer from Manchester and a winter skills group from Aberdeen. Nobody else!


Below, Cairn an Tuirc. Still thin but snow starting to build again in the normal snow holding depressions. Much better than two days ago,
