Mixed Bag…

20th February 2024

A wet and cloudy morning, followed by a sunny afternoon –  finishing with a deluge that turned to sleet and a little hill snow. The patchy snow continues to thaw with the hillsides sodden and running with melt water. We’re due to have a little snow in the next 24 hour period but the freezing level will rise up and over the summits during the middle of the day. By the afternoon it will be lowering again and looks like it is going to stay cooler for a while. There’ll be some snow in there but amounts don’t look significant at the moment….

Photo opportunities were limited today – and the lens seemed to have water on it permanently

Patchy snow cover: Better on N to E facing aspects.
