Bonus Day!

25th February 2024

Another stunning day! Super cold to start off but eventually it felt very warm on South facing slopes. The bonus was the lack of wind – just a gentle breeze at times. The most recent snow remains cold, dry and light – Still not well bonded with shallow unstable windslab present in steeper wind sheltered locations. We’re expecting some redistribution of deposits in the next forecast period as the wind is picking up significantly. The loose surface snow will drift easily in these winds, with some fresh windslab forming.
