No Viz…

21st January 2023

Bit of a change from yesterday – Today was cold, windy and very cloudy. Strong headwind on the way to Lochnagar and then no visibility in the corrie at all. Plenty of snow on the walk in but the Meikle Pap col has had the winds blowing through it and it’s firm and icy underfoot. Temperatures stayed below zero above 800 metres for most of the day, with a slow steady thaw now set to take place tomorrow. Large cornices still in place and will continue to threaten the slopes below. Looks like it will stay milder for the next 48 hour period…

No viz in Lochnagar. Cliffs should be behind Bowie
