Spring snow.

22nd March 2022

Despite a temperature of +7 degrees Celsius on top it felt cold compared to the previous day but still it definitely felt more Spring than Winter. Most of the surface layers have started to soften but it’s still reasonably firm in the shade.

Lochnagar from The Stuic. Most of the bigger cornices have gone but there are quite a few remnants still to come down such as this one.

The top of The Stuic with Carn a Choire Bhoidheach behind. These higher plateau areas have still got good cover but it is becoming patchy at lower levels.

Glide cracks are appearing around the edges of the corries.
