Lochnagar.

1st March 2022

Lochnagar looking good in the sun today. Recent thaw/freeze cycles have left the snow very firm and icy. There were climbers in today but I couldn’t quite pick them out from the West Ridge.

The False Corrie ( Coire na Saobhaidhe). Ice falls looking good.

The main crags of Lochnagar.

Raeburns Gully looking fairly white.

The view to Beinn a Bhuird giving an idea of snow cover/levels.

Can you spot me on the north top? It’s possible to bike in the length of Glen Quoich and ski from the tree line on the flank of Carn Allt na Beinne, plateau cover is super. Although it was like skiing marbles off the very top, improved lower down. So many lines in the heart of the Gorm’s but access is never easy.
