Ben Avon

26th March 2022

Another beautiful blue sky day with mostly light winds. It was incredibly warm with plus 10 degrees centigrade recorded at 930 metres during the early afternoon. The snow is thawing rapidly in these conditions, especially at lower elevations and on South facing slopes. Even higher up, the plateau areas now have breaks in them, but there are still some very large areas of snow remaining.

Another great weather forecast for tomorrow so get yourself out there – but don’t forget the sunscreen and shades!

Looking across from Clach Choutsaich, Ben Avon to Ben a’Bhuird

Cover starting to break through even on the high plateau areas.

Bit of bouldering in the sun anyone…? At 1100m in The Cairngorms in March….!

Handsome chap

Lovely couple – Mrs sat still but Mr. decided to move and is slightly fuzzy!
