Very cloudy.

13th February 2022

Had intended to have a look around the corries on Beinn a Bhuird however the cloud base was around 850-900 metres and I saw nothing above this height.

Surprisingly, given how strong the winds were last night was there was absolutely no wind whatsoever today. The freezing level was around 900 metres or so, snow started to feel a bit firmer above this level.

Potentially looking quite Wintry next couple of days or so.

The only time I thought it would clear! Corrie na Ciche. The rocky top of A’ Chioch top right.

I had a very similar experience as I trekked across from Derry Cairngorm onto Ben Macdui plateau from south east. Beautiful glimpses of the corries for a brief moment just before 10 but thereafter clouds sunk back to 900m. Top of Ben Macdui was very cloudy and visibility almost zero. Windswept on top but snow slab starting to accumulate on the steeper southern slopes.
